How we work

We get it. Choosing a new training provider is a tricky process.

So we try to make it as simple, quick and informative as possible:

1 Contact us…

… by WhatsApp or email. We’ll try to answer any initial queries within 24 hours. Or just move straight on to…

2 Schedule an intro call

You can schedule the call directly through the website.

It’s a 30-minute call with Neil, for him to answer your questions – and to get a sense of your delegates and their requirements.

He’ll also be transparent about our fees and payment terms.

We hope we’re the right fit, but there’s no hard sell – promise.

3 Our proposal & testimonials

We will send you a written proposal and cost quotation, valid for 14 days.

And we’ll include testimonials, from named clients.

4 Book your bespoke training

Neil will help you match your calendars with ours, and get the training booked in.

Every session we deliver is tailored precisely to the client and the delegates, so this is the time to move on to detailed prep with your comms team.

Martine Croxall

Martine is a senior presenter with BBC News, having worked for over 30 years as a reporter and anchor. Alongside her work in the studio, she is an experienced presentation skills trainer – both internally, at the BBC Academy, and for corporate clients.

Martine joined the BBC in 1991, working on Radio Leicester and East Midlands Today before moving to the national TV newsroom in 2001. She has anchored many major news events – from the death of Prince Philip to the 2015 Paris terror attacks – and reported on many more. She was a regular presenter of The Papers.

At the BBC Academy, Martine trains new presenters using the skills and techniques developed from her distinguished career on-screen. Her training clients outside the BBC have included charities, local authorities and consultancies, and she is an experienced live event host and panel moderator.

A geography graduate of the University of Leeds, Martine is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. In 2022, she won Celebrity Mastermind with her specialist subject Nellie Bly.

Neil Midgley

Neil delivers training in both London and Brussels – with clients including corporations, international organisations, trade bodies, charities and individuals.

Neil’s training is informed by 20 years of experience as a journalist – mainly for the Daily Telegraph, where he was TV Editor and then Media Editor. He frequently chaired high-profile on-stage sessions (for BAFTA, ITV, the RTS and many more) – and was a regular on-screen pundit for BBC News and Sky News.

Prior to being a journalist, Neil worked as a corporate lawyer for 7 years (at firms including Linklaters and Debevoise & Plimpton). He is also an Oxford University-trained mindfulness teacher, so he can help even the most apprehensive training participants to feel safe and supported.

As well as media training, Neil works in corporate communications – most recently as Group Communications Director at YMU.

In 2022, Neil spent 10 months in Poland, working with a local start-up charity to run shelters for Ukrainian refugees. Outside work, you can often find him at the gym (fruitlessly trying to turn back the years) or at Romford ice rink (fruitlessly taking figure-skating lessons).
